Prof. Woods’ newest book, The Politics of Global Regulation, brings up a number of topics related to global financial regulation that would be interesting for you to explore in the interview. For instance, you might consider asking her the following questions:
-What has been (and will be) the impact of the recent financial crisis for developing countries?
-What lessons can we learn from the crisis about how to better manage global financial markets?
-What can be done to prevent another global recession?
-Who are the most influential actors “hijacking” the regulatory process, and what can be done to reduce their influence in terms of regulatory capture?
-How might regulation increase global public welfare?
    – What ought to be the role of global instittutions (IMF, WB) with respect to managing the behavior of states? What are the implications of IFI-led regulatory policies for state sovereignty? How can we adjust/reform our existing IOs and IFIs (or build new ones) to better manage global financial affairs?
